Michael Schmidt has over 20 years of experience in international business, investment management and trade & development. Before joining UNIDO in 2018, he worked for CFLD, a leading Chinese real estate and industrial park developer. He is the founder of INEAST Consulting Germany, a specialized consultancy and platform for investment co-operation between Germany and Eastern Europe, CIS and China. Michael also spent five years as managing director at German Chambers Abroad (AHK) in Eastern Europe and worked for over 10 years as a consultant in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
Michael studied and worked in the UK, Russia and the Balkans and holds a master’s degree in economics.
