ITPO Germany organized the visit of a high-level Sudanese delegation to Germany with the aim to establish a potato cultivation hub along the Nile river in Sudan. Several meetings and company visits were organized in addition to a participation at Potato Europe, the leading trade fair for the potato sector with about 10,000 visitors.
The delegation visited the company Wernsing, a German processor of fresh potatoes, and Lemken, a leading manufacturer of ploughs and other agricultural machinery. During the visit, the latest technologies and agricultural practices for soil cultivation, with focus on the potato crop were presented to the delegation.
During the visit to the Potato Europe Trade Fair, the delegation was welcomed by Martin Umhau, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Potato Europe and member of the DLG Supervisory Board, and met with several exhibiting companies.
