Delegate Programme: EuroTier Trade Show

Hanover, 10 – 16 November 2024

UNIDO ITPO Germany organized a delegation trip for 16 representatives from 7 different countries to EuroTier trade fair in Hanover. The delegation trip focusses on the poultry and related biogas and animal feed sectors and seeks to support companies and investors in establishing sustainable and resource efficient production facilities in African markets. The EuroTier trade show gathers stakeholders from all over the world to connect with each other and establish new partnerships. in 2024, the trade fair also hosted the World Poultry Show and Energy Decentral, focusing on the poultry and biogas sectors.

The poultry sector is an important industry in terms of sustainability and nutritional value to feed a growing population. During the visit to Hanover, the participants from Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Togo and Zambia used the time in Hanover to connect with new potential partners from Europe and explored new innnovative solutions. In addition to participating in EuroTier Trade Fair, the delegation visited a larger farm in Lower Saxony and had the chance to exchange with agritech-company RIELA Karl-Heinz Knoop e.K., a supplier of dryers, silos and feed mills in many African markets.  
On the last day of the trip, the group visited a German School of Agricultural Engineering from DEULA Nienburg and Larvae Solutions GmbH, a company producing technology for the usage of larvae for chicken feed. Furthermore, UNIDO ITPO Germany organized a workshop focussing on financing solutions for the African market from INZAG Germany GmbH and a session on sustainability in the poultry sector from a renowned specialist in that field.
